Sermons on Living our Faith (Page 2)
Ecclesiastes 1:1-10 Have you ever asked yourself: “Why am I here?” Why did God permit me to wake up this morning? Why is my heart still beating and my lungs still breathing? If you haven’t, you need to.
1 Samuel 3:1-12 Yes, it can be bitter, but it’s so, so sweet to be called out in the darkness when the silence is broken.
Our Romans lesson is really a challenging one. It’s not challenging to understand. What’s challenging is carrying it out. Paul’s encouragement for God’s people seems impossible: “Love must be sincere … Hate what is evil … Cling to what is good … Be devoted to one another in love … Keep your spiritual fervor … Be joyful in hope … Patient in tribulation … Constant in prayer” … plus 22 more. So today, let’s try this. Let’s take that list…
Genesis 39:6-23 You should know, not all heroes stick around to take on the bad guys. In today’s OT lesson we meet someone who’s a hero for running away. Let’s find out why we, as Christians, will want to be less like the Avengers and more like “Joseph: The Hero Who Ran Away.”
Ephesians 1:20-23 Today, while 65% of Americans claim they are Christian, only 45% say they go to church, but less than 25% actually do. In the few places where Christianity still has a foothold, it’s losing its influence as people water down the Bible’s teachings. That means that you, the Bible-based, Christ-centered Christian is a very small minority in this world. All of that disheartening news is exactly why we need to hear God’s message today, because CHRIST’S ASCENSION CHEERS…
At times, within our own families and our own congregation, we take for granted all the things Christian moms do for their families. That’s why we need to encourage them and show them our appreciation for raising us as a child of God who follows him by faith now right into eternity.
God’s Word on Confirmation Day offers you: “SOME CERTAINTY IN AN UNCERTAIN WORLD.” It tells you with absolute certainty that: 1) God chose you, cherished you and called you. So that you would want to: 2) Serve him with your every want, word and work. 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17
