Beating the Daily Grind

Sermon Text: Ecclesiastes 1:1-2, 12-14; 2:18-26 King Solomon was known as the wisest man in the Bible. God inspired him to write three Old Testament books (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs also known as Song of Solomon). This Sunday’s worship will center on a lesson from Ecclesiastes. In it, Solomon seems to be complaining about the daily grind of life. This weekend, find out what the Bible’s wisest man is really talking about. It may shock you!

Ordinary Joe

Sermon Text: Genesis 39 “Coat of many colors!” That’s the first response people give when the name of the Old Testament hero of faith, Joseph, is mentioned. This week at St. Paul’s VBS, Joseph was the main character in each day’s Bible lesson. And we learned there’s so much more to Joseph than a colorful coat. Join us Sunday at 9:30 am for worship and in addition to learning more about our God through Joseph, we’ll get to hear the…

Would you slam the front door and run out…

He’s invisible (a spirit) and he creates and plants faith inside the believer (our hearts). But the Holy Spirit can be detected. Faith is always looking for opportunities to give evidence of its existence. This Sunday we’re going to pick some “fruit of the Spirit,” and then evaluate how the believers’ actions are ways to detect the Holy Spirit’s presence in…

Thank you for your service

Sermon Text: 1 Peter 5:1-4 “Thank you for your service!” That phrase is heard plenty these days. I, for one, am glad it is. Both my father (Army – WW II) and my oldest brother (Marines – Vietnam) served their country. They were part of a group who made the freedoms we enjoy a reality. On this Fourth of July weekend, we also say: “Thank you for your service!” to those who brought us and continue to bring us the…
