“He ain’t heavy! He’s my brother!” was one of the most popular songs of the 60’s. The original name of this song came from a Vietnam War photo where an American solider is carrying a Vietnamese man on his shoulders. A journalist asked the soldier if he’d been carrying the man very far, and the soldier smiled at the camera and said: “He ain’t heavy! He’s my brother!” That’s the point we want to make this Sunday as we talk about this week’s Christian quality: “Brotherly Kindness,” how brothers and sisters in Christ express kindness for each other.
