Sermon Text: 1 Peter 5:1-4
“Thank you for your service!” That phrase is heard plenty these days. I, for one, am glad it is. Both my father (Army – WW II) and my oldest brother (Marines – Vietnam) served their country. They were part of a group who made the freedoms we enjoy a reality.
On this Fourth of July weekend, we also say: “Thank you for your service!” to those who brought us and continue to bring us the freedoms we have in Jesus our Savior. They are the pastors and teachers who care for our spiritual lives, and bring us the gospel message of salvation in Christ alone.
