“The choices we make today echo in eternity.”
We live this every day. If we stub our toe or get stuck in traffic, it tends to set a horrible tone for the rest of the day. But if someone compliments us or does something nice for us, it brightens the rest of our day. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25 “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Choose kindness to a stranger over ignoring them. Help someone in need rather than walk on by. Be the reason someone smiles today. This is how we can serve the Lord – by serving others. It doesn’t cost anything to be kind.
Growing up, there was a sign in the church kitchen that read,
“Work for the Lord.
The pay isn’t that great,
but the retirement is out of this world!”
